10th year veteran center, Garth Murray(17) was originally signed by St. John’s IceCaps at the start of the 2011/2012 season to a pto. After a hot start by the team and showing good leadership with the group, he was recently upped to a standard player contract.
Originally drafted in the 3rd round of the 2001 draft (#79 overall) by New York Rangers, he’s spent played in 116 NHL games (8 goals, 2 assists).
He’s spent most of his career in the AHL with 5 different teams but did start last season in the ECHL with the defunct Victoria Salmon Kings but didn’t take long before he earned a call-up.
