Andre-Burakovsky

Washington Capitals‘ 1st round pick in the 2013 draft (#23 overall) Austria-born rookie center Andre’ Burakovsky(15) may be spending most of his playing time with affiliate Hershey Bears heading down the stretch towards the postseason.

Although he’s skated in 50 games with the parent club, scored his first NHL in his debut and has a very decent 9 goals and 13 assists with a +12 rating, he’s also been a healthy scratch on many occasions as he develops.

The fairly big 6’3″ 198 lbs. power forward may be mostly squeezed out of his spot with the big club but considering he doesn’t have to go through waivers and seems to excel once reinserted into the lineup is likely first on the list to go back up.

He already had one full season’s experience in Sweden’s tier two Allsvenskan with Malmo (where he played most of his junior hockey) and even played 10 games with the team in 2011/2012 as a 16/17-year old, when he signed his entry level deal that extends through 2017.

Although his contract was set, it was decided to send him to Erie Otters much against his will to make sure their prospect was ready.

Scoring 41 goals and 47 assists in 57 OHL games he easily proved he was too skilled to be playing at the junior level.

The 20-year old posted his first AHL goal, an overtime game-winner, in his 6th game to go along with his one assist but will need to continue to dig hard to prove he’s ready for prime time.

Colin-Stuart

11th year left wing Colin Stuart(49) started 2014/2015 in Sweden’s tier 2 league Allsvenskan with Malmo. It was his second tour of overseas hockey. He played in 2012/2013 for Iserlohn Roosters of the German elite DEL.

He played in 31 games scoring 5 goals and 4 assists with a +4 rating but after a few months decided to leave and sign an spc with Providence Bruins for the remainder of the season.

The 32-year, former three time captain (once in his senior campaign at Colorado College) and 2008 Calder Cup Champion is a good guy to have around for his goal scoring and leadership abilities.

In 28 AHL contests the 6’2″ 205 lbs. forward has already amassed a tidy 8 goals and 8 assists.

He also has 58 games of NHL experience mostly with draft team Atlanta Thrashers and a couple of spins on the ice over two years under contract with Buffalo Sabres.

He should easily help the Boston farm club into a playoff berth.

Carl Sodeberg

11th year pro, Swedish-born center/left wing Carl Soderberg(34) appears to be poised to finally join Boston Bruins‘ lineup for a full season.

He signed a 3-year deal during the team’s playoff run last season and appeared in a pair of games (with no points) on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals.

The big 6’3″ 218 lbs. forward was pretty much a point per game player in his last 8 seasons of action with Malmo of his home country’s 2nd tier league Allsvenskan and the last two in the SHL playing for Linköping.

Almost amazing, the Bruins maintained his playing rights in North America after making a trade for him in 2007. He was originally a St. Louis Blues‘ 2nd round draft pick in 2004 (#49 overall).

He was always rumored to be suiting up with the team sooner than it ultimately happened but was under contract, which kept him overseas and still on the radar.

At 27-years old is expected to be an elite contributor Boston‘s continuing success.
