Minnesota Wild rookie left wing Matt Boldy(12) grabs a 1st recall after lighting it up for affiliate Iowa Wild with 4 goals and 6 assists in 10 AHL games.
He did much the same after arriving after a 2nd session at Boston College to sign his entry level deal, scoring 6 goals and 12 assists in 14 games with a +5.
Preseason injuries likely kept him from getting an early summons up.
In his Boston (hometown Millis, MA) debut, he skates 20 shifts for 13:13 total ice with 4 shots on net and a 1st NHL goal, the game-winner.
The 20-year old may have arrived, already.
With his 3-year entry level deal coming due at the end of the current frame, it was smart to try to visit this one quickly to make sure he knew they wanted to keep in the fold, long time to help the club towards a trophy.
Now, all of 21-years old, he signs a 7-year extension worth $7M AAV or $49M over the term.
He’s a Wild going forward.
