Quinnipiac University Bobcats‘ graduate transfer from a degree at RPI Engineers, defenseman Jake Johnson(23) is having a career season with his new college club, popping an easy best 4 goals and his 9 assists could still surpass the 14 he put up as a senior last year, but he also has a phenomenal +16 rating.
The 6′ 185 lbs. blue liner from Bloomington, MN did 2 USHL campaigns with Cedar Rapids Roughriders, securing 17 assists in his 2nd frame.
It’s not exactly clear what will occur next for the 24-year old, but if he were to look at some pro movement, we think he see some positive results.
Well, after somewhat surprisingly pulling off the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Championship stunner, he signs a 1st pro deal with Fort Wayne Komets, where he will be treated to some tough playoff hockey, but in the meantime, scores a 1st ECHL goal in his 2 game.
He would skate an entire season with the team, doing decently, but signed with Tahoe Knight Monsters for last season and produced his best numbers in the league, 4 goals and 17 assists in 61 games with a +19 rating.
For 2025/2026, he agrees to terms with Idaho Steelheads.
And just like that, a day later, he gets traded to Cincinnati Cyclones, who want him a little closer to home.
