Michigan State University Spartans‘ junior defenseman David Gucciardi(48) may not catch his points’ high with 1 goal and 4 assists, but with a best +8 rating, may really be looking at a best college season yet with his top ranked college team.
The 6’1″ 190 lbs. blue liner from Toronto, ON did 3 years of junior hockey, but his 1st in the OJHL was maybe his best as it was the one least interrupted.
It seems the 21-year old has known where he was going to school for awhile, but wasn’t selected by Washington Capitals until the 7th round of the 2022 NHL draft after his freshman year.
After finishing up tournament play, the senior, who scored a best 6 goals and 10 assists in a high 37 games with a +21 rating, signs an ato to join Hershey Bears and comes away with a 1st AHL goal and a +4 rating in 2 games played.
He is also agreed to a 2-year entry level contract by the Capitals to begin 2025/2026.
