Boston Bruins made a minor league swap with Tampa Bay Lightning, acquiring Juraj Simek(14) for Levi Nelson(10). Both players were immediately assigned to their AHL affiliates.
As soon as Simek arrived in Providence he took Nelson‘s former #10 jersey to wear for the team.
Boston Bruins made a minor league deal today and dished P-Bruins‘ forward Jeff LoVecchio(18) to Florida Panthers, where he was immediately assigned to their AHL affiliate, Rochester Americans.

Thumbs up to Bridgeport Sound Tigers‘ d-man, Travis Hamonic(3) on playing 5 games with the Islanders for his first call- up to the NHL.
He notched 1 assist and 4 pims.
Congratulations to the Pirates Mark Mancari(25) on his first call-up to the Buffalo Sabres in ’10/’11.
Hopefully he’ll get to skate tonight against the Bruins at the Garden.
The best of the firsts in the 12/5 afternoon game vs. Portland Pirates, Sharks‘ rookie forward Cam MacIntyre(41) played his debut professional hockey game and scored a goal in the win.
He was an undrafted San Jose signing in the spring and big things are being eyed from this find.
In that afternoon of many firsts at the Sharks‘ game on Sunday, defenseman Nick Schaus(6) scored his first professional goal on a nice slapper from the point and it turned out to be the game-winning goal. He was awarded 3rd star of the game honors too.
In a game filled with firsts of the season, Dennis McCauley(28), now of the Portland Pirates visited the DCU Center for the first time this season after spending last year with the Sharks.
He is Portland Pirates‘ forward Colin Stuart, brother of Boston Bruins‘ defenseman Mark Stuart, but he hasn’t gotten quite so lucky with his breaks in the NHL.
Maybe he should have been a defenseman.
I think Mark Mancari(25) is the most dangerous scorer in the AHL.
Can’t figure out why he hasn’t been able to become a regular in the show.
Next year he’ll be elsewhere for the first time in his playing career and maybe that will earn him some more permanent time in the NHL, like Mathieu Darche did later in his career.
