Scott-Jacklin

Undrafted 4th year left wing Scott Jacklin(8) has spent the majority of three seasons with Brampton Beast.

He started last season with 10 Metal Ligaen games for Herlev Eagles but after no points left.

The 6′ 185 lbs. forward skated a career high 61 ECHL games scoring new bests 11 goals, 16 assists and 27 points.

After 4 good seasons in the BCHL, especially his last two, where he was well above a point-per-game performer with Trail Smoke Eaters.

He then left for Robert Morris University and he continued his effectiveness with connecting on the scoresheet.

The 28-year old will next take his game Ligue Magnus signing for 2018/2019 with Chamonix.

He should do well in France’s top league but could also return for more hockey in Ontario.

Evan-Brophey2

12th year right wing Evan Brophey(47) has spent the last three seasons lighting the lamp big for Graz 99ers scoring 35 goals and 70 assists in 157 EBEL games but decides to move on for some better hockey joining HC Kosice of Slovak Tipsport liga for 2018/2019.

If the 31-year old finds himself with enough gas in the tank, we expect him to do well in this league and maybe even move up another notch before he decides to hang up the skates.

Austin-Cangelosi

Undrafted 2nd year center Austin Cangelosi(10) signs for a sophomore season with Lillehammer of GET-ligaen after spending his rookie campaign with Binghamton Devils scoring 2 goals and 3 assists in 42 AHL games.

The 5’8″ 190 lbs. forward spent 4 campaigns at Boston College scoring 20+ goals as a junior and senior after amassing two more than point-per-game seasons for Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, serving as captain in year two.

The 23-year old sophomore skater should do well in Norway’s top league and will likely move him up to better hockey as he goes.

Gage-Quinney2

Undrafted 3rd year center Gage Quinney(18) heads home (kind of) signing an NHL two-year entry deal with Vegas Golden Knights.

He was maybe oddly born there and played some of his junior hockey with Las Vegas Storm prior to signing on with Prince Albert Raiders, where he stuck for a year and a half before being sent to Kelowna Rockets and he happened to win the 2015 WHL Championship.

The 5’11” 190 lbs. forward was there a short time but eventually finished with Kamloops Blazers putting up point per game stats (27-23-50) in 48 games.

His first contract came with Wheeling Nailers.

As a rookie he recorded 18 goals and 26 assists in 45 ECHL games.

Invited to skate Pittsburgh Penguins‘ training camps, he signed on with affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for his sophomore campaign and almost naturally took it up scoring 14 goals and 19 assists in 55 AHL games with a +5 rating.

The 22-year old will likely spend plenty of time with their minor league club Chicago Wolves but look for him to get a look.

Can you imagine that debut?

Anthony-Greco

Florida Panthers‘ 3rd year right wing Anthony Greco(25) took a career sophomore season for affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds into a 2-year entry level deal less than a month and a half in.

He was signed to a minor league contract as a rookie and to start 2017/2018.

The somewhat small-is 5’10” 172 lbs. forward got off to a hot start in his 2nd campaign finishing with a team high, career best 29 goals, 19 assists and 48 points in 75 AHL games, including 6 on the power play, 6 short-handed and 4 game-winners on a team that at times struggled.

He is a goal scorer that looks for open space on the ice, twice ascending to 23 points in his junior and senior years at Ohio State University and a 22 goal outing in his 2nd season of the USHL as captain for Des Moines Buccaneers.

The 24-year old will turn 25 before 2018/2019 starts and be heading into his third training camp with the parent club.

There’s little doubt he will compete for a roster spot.

Zack-Phillips

7th year right wing Zack Phillips(51) takes a career best 15 goals and 31 assists for Nottingham Panthers in 56 EIHL games to Fehervar AV19 of EBEL, which is definitely a nice step up for this third season overseas.

He started in 2016/2017 under a one-year deal with Tingryds AIF of Allvenskan doing pretty well with 11-17-28 in 50 games.

It seems if the 25-year old, who will turn 26 in the early part of 2018/2019 will be able to continue his climb up the hockey ladder if he puts together another good effort in Austria.

Ryan-Stoa2

10th year center Ryan Stoa(94) will spend a fifth season in the KHL but switches from two campaigns for Spartak Moskva to Traktor Chelyabinsk.

He’s managed 30+ points in 3 of his four years in the league scoring 22 goals in 2016/2017.

The former high draft pick has always seemed to manage pretty well on the scoresheet going back to his senior year at University Of Minnesota, when he was team captain and struck for 24 goals and 22 assists in 36 NCAA games that got him named to the CAA First-Team All-Americans.

The 31-year old was chosen as a representative for the 2018 US Olympic team at Pyeongchang and doesn’t show any signs of quitting, especially considering his consistent play at a high level of hockey.

Maxim-Goncharov

11th year Russian-born defenseman Maxim Goncharov(57) switches up KHL teams for the first time in three seasons.

He was with Salavat Yulaev Ufa  but will skate for Spartak Moskva in 2018/2019.

The big 6’4″ 220 lbs. blue liner returned to the league in 2013/2014 after being left unqualified by Arizona Coyotes (5th round, 2007, #123 overall), who had signed him to a 3-year entry level deal but never played in the NHL despite getting recalled.

He’s played 151 AHL games with Portland Pirates and San Antonio Rampage scoring 9 goals and 25 assists.

Never really the biggest scorer, he’s relied upon to provide a punishing presence.

The 28-year old could continue to play in his country’s top league but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him move on as he gets into his final years.

Mason-Baptista

Undrafted 4th year center Mason Baptista(9) takes a career best 18 goals, 32 assists and 50 points in 62 ECHL games with Fort Wayne Komets last season to a new adventure, signing with EHC Freiburg of DEL2 for 2018/2019.

In 184 games in the league for three different teams he has 46 goals and 60 assists with a +12 rating.

The 6′ 200 lbs. forward played his college hockey a division three powerhouse, St. Norbert and won a 20122014 NCAA III Championship.

The 28-year old definitely has some great power forward-like skills and may be able to move up especially with a good season overseas.

Joey-Haddad

10th year left wing Joey Haddad(27) signs on for his 5th season with Cardiff Devils.

It can’t be a hard decision considering they’ve managed 2015, 2017 and 2018 EIHL and Cup Championships.

In 199 games he has 65 goals and 92 assists, which is on par with numbers he put up in the ECHL.

The 6’2 205 lbs. played two more seasons with Atlanta Gladiators, becoming captain in 2013/2014 before leaving for the United Kingdom.

He’ll turn 30-years old as next season gets started.

Seems like he’s been on a good pro hockey ride.
