4th year Checkers‘ forward Brett Sutter(14) originally drafted by Calgary in 2005 and traded to Carolina early in the 2010/2011 season is lighting the lamp in the AHL Calder Cup playoffs with Charlotte.
He did the same thing last post-season with Abbotsford Heat. Obviously he’s something of a playoff performer.
In game 3 vs. WBS Penguins on Monday night he got the game winner in the 1st OT.

He’s also had a monster 45 shots on goal and in the last win vs. Binghamton in the “Atlantic” Division finals potted 2 and assisted on 2 others for a 6-2 Portland win to keep the series alive and send it back to the Cumberland County Civic Center for game 6.

6th year Portland Pirates‘ coach Kevin Dineen is probably the best coach in the AHL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him land a job with an NHL team sooner than later.
