Had to get my pic taken with Bruins‘ ace goalie Tim Thomas(30).
Will he win his 2nd Vezina in 3 years? Looking good for that.
I appreciate that the guy always brings a great attitude to the rink and to the game and told him so, when I met him.

met Bruins’ super-rookie Brad Marchand(63) at the team’s Casino Night last weekend. He’s 1″ and 40 pounds bigger than I am.
Whale forward Tim Kennedy(13) signed a one-year deal with New York Rangers after Buffalo walked away from the $1 million arbitration award he was given in the off-season for the 26 points he put up. He has yet to suit up for the NHL team after playing 78 games with the Sabres last season.
He’s basically a point per game player in the AHL and scored the opening salvo at the Whale Bowl.
P-Bruins‘ rookie forward Jordan Caron(38) adjusts the head liner he donned for the outdoor game as he walks toward the team’s dressing room at the end of the 2nd period.
Whale first-year prospect defenseman Jyri Niemi(8), picked up in a rare trade between the Islanders and the Rangers, was converted to a forward for the game outside and scored himself his second goal of the season in the meantime.
Connecticut Whale players, Justin Soryal(47), Devin DiDiomete(24) and Dale Weise(23) are literally “chilling” on the bench in the 3rd period of the Whale Bowl at Rentschler Field as the nighttime temperatures dip and the wind gusts pick up.
P-Bruins‘ netminder Nolan Schaefer(31) didn’t play but donned the old school Cheevers‘ mask for the occasion of the outdoor game in Hartford.
It was a nice touch nonetheless, especially considering Cheevers‘ spent many of his post-Stanley Cup years in goal for Cleveland Crusaders in the early days of the WHA.
He’s probably on the last year of his entry level contract and this year Dale Weise(23) received his first call-up to the New York Rangers. He was drafted in the 4th round in 2008, #111 overall. In 10 games, he failed to register any points. In the AHL he’s a point per game player.
Islanders‘ tough guy call-up, Micheal Haley(18) will probably be most remembered as the player that fought goalie Brett Johnson of the Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s a bit sad that his first NHL goal also came in that same game, which is a nice accomplishment for the pugilist. He was scoring with the Sound Tigers before getting called-up and he did score in juniors.
