P-Bruins‘ defenseman Jeff Penner(6) sports his special military style jersey, which was auctioned off by the team after their second (and final) home game wearing them on January 16 vs. Worcester Sharks.
Penner spent a couple of games with Boston last season but somewhat surprisingly has yet to get a call-up this year.
In his third season as a Sharks‘ wing man, Dan DaSilva(23) is finally starting to re-ignite that scoring touch he flashed last season, when he notched 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points. That number almost surpasses his totals in the AHL the 4 seasons prior to ’09’/’10. He’s definitely not on pace to surpass last year but he has been one heck on an agitator out there.
Will Jonathan Cheechoo(14) play in the AHL All-Star Game in Hershey this year? He may be slightly injured and pass.
Sean Sullivan(37) should so get to replace him if he doesn’t play.
He’s been selected by fans to be a starter, which would make it a 10 years since he was last chosen to be one in the AHL.
He didn’t play in the ’01/02 game because of injury but did participate in ’00/’01.

Since his call up to Boston in early December, he’s been steady on the blue line with a +7 and 8 points (4 goals, assists). He’ll have to stay hot to earn a permanent spot but it’s already looking pretty good.
3rd year forward Alexander Vasyunov(24) got his first ride with New Jersey (17 games so far in 2010/2011) and notched his first NHL goal in the meantime.
He’s never been the most prolific of scorers and it’s a bit of a wonder why he was chosen so high (#58 overall) in the 2006 draft.
Marlborough, MA born/UNH standout Bobby Butler(12) has spent most of the first half of his first pro season in the AHL with the B-Sens but has been called up and spent 4 games with the big club in Ottawa.
He’s yet to register a point but that will likely change imminently.
Undrafted center Michael Swift(23) is on a scoring tear for the Devils and I wouldn’t be surprised if he sees his first NHL action with Jersey this season after three years in their system.
I mean, really, the team is going nowhere fast, so he merits a look?
Fifth year pro Olivier Magnan(2), originally drafted by New Jersey in 2006, earned his first call-up to the NHL this season.
He played 18 games without scoring but must have shown them something to last that long on a team that is troubled at best.
Connecticut Whale center Kris Newbury(11) was recently called up to the New York Rangers for the first time this season.
He’s appeared in NHL games for the last 5 seasons while under two-way contracts for three different teams.
Bruins‘ netminder Matt Dalton(30) posted his 2-0 shutout vs. Worcester home at the Dunk last Sunday. It was his second of the season.
