Whale goalie Chad Johnson(29) started the unfortunate streak of 2-0 shutout losses that I’m on at Worcester Sharks‘ games.
On 2/5-10 he posted his second shutout of the season.

In his 6th year in the Devils‘ prospect system, Stephen Gionta(11) earned his first NHL call up for 12 games with New Jersey. He didn’t register any points but didn’t look out of place either, especially considering he stands all of 5′ 7″ tall.
I hope he scores himself another call up this season.
Sean Sullivan(37) was overlooked to participate in the 2010/2011 AHL All-Star Game in Hershey even though he has a league leading 10 goals among defensemen. Not cool.
the Rangers are putting the scare in their 2008 first round (20th overall) draft pick’s hockey pants by shipping him to Connecticut due to deteriorating numbers on the scoring sheet. Last season in his rookie year he led all Rangers‘ d-men in points.
Bad Del Zotto. He won’t be with the Whale long.
Jason Williams(10) was last seen in the AHL in 2002-2003 with Grand Rapids, affiliate of Detroit Red Wings. Just one year prior he was with the Red Wings for their Stanley Cup run. Since then he’s played with the Blackhawks, Thrashers, Blue Jackets and back to the Wings last year.
Without a contract for 2010/2011, he signed a pto with Connecticut Whale late last year and in 6 games has registered a couple of goals to go along with a couple of assists.
Could the Rangers sign him for his one-time presence around the Cup?
Corey Locke(84) has always been amongst the leaders in AHL scoring in his 7-year pro career but finally notched his first point (an assist) in first NHL action with Ottawa on 1/13-11.
It’s only his fifth game in the big league ever but maybe he can stick for awhile and make an impact with the lowly Senators.

After starting the 2010/2011 season without a contract and then signing a pto with Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Jeremy Colliton(21) earned his two-way deal with New York Islanders.
He was recalled the first weekend of January and scored two goals in his second game with the team in their overtime win vs. Colorado.
It was his first for the team since April 15, 2006. The Isles are the only NHL team he has skated for in his 5 years and spent last season in Europe before returning.
After suffering what was said to be a season-ending injury in off-season training, a blown out achilles tendon, last year’s Providence Bruins‘ captain Trent Whitfield(23) made his return to the team in the first weekend of ’11.
He appeared in 16 games for Boston last year.
Colby Cohen(26) got his first goal (2nd of the year) with his new team last Sunday at the Dunk. The rookie prospect was traded to Boston in late November from Colorado in a salary clearing deal that sent Matt Hunwick to the Avalanche but had a nagging wrist injury that kept him from action until early ’11. Cohen spent his college years playing with Boston University Terriers and shows nice promise for the B’s defensive corp.
Way to go Nick Palmieri(25) on your first NHL goal. It may have been an empty netter but how many players can say that Martin Brodeur assisted on my first NHL goal.
