Will Gilson (3)

University Of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves‘ sophomore defenseman Will Gilson(3) will take his college high 12 assists and 15 points into the transfer portal to play as a junior for RPI Engineers.

The 6′ 170 lbs. blue liner was definitely a lot more balanced in his play on a better team last season.

He did 2 sessions with Junior Bruins, getting 10+ assists.

From Old Greenwich, CT, the 22-year old is likely looking for a new start a little closer to home.

After putting up a college best 8 goals and 16 assists in 35 games with a +6 rating, he once again enters the transfer portal and will skate for his senior frame at Quinnipiac University Bobcats, 2025/2026.

David Gucciardi (48)

Michigan State University Spartans‘ junior defenseman David Gucciardi(48) may not catch his points’ high with 1 goal and 4 assists, but with a best +8 rating, may really be looking at a best college season yet with his top ranked college team.

The 6’1″ 190 lbs. blue liner from Toronto, ON did 3 years of junior hockey, but his 1st in the OJHL was maybe his best as it was the one least interrupted.

It seems the 21-year old has known where he was going to school for awhile, but wasn’t selected by Washington Capitals until the 7th round of the 2022 NHL draft after his freshman year.

After finishing up tournament play, the senior, who scored a best 6 goals and 10 assists in a high 37 games with a +21 rating, signs an ato to join Hershey Bears and comes away with a 1st AHL goal and a +4 rating in 2 games played.

He is also agreed to a 2-year entry level contract by the Capitals to begin 2025/2026.

Gregor Jennersjo (2)

South Shore Kings‘ 1st year Swedish-born defenseman Gregor Jennersjo(2) put up a mighty 39 assists last season in the USPHL/NCDC after a largely unsuccessful year scoring in another league.

The 6′ 187 lbs. blue liner commits to Gustavus Adolfus College Golden Gusties for 2025/2026.

He came over early to Canada for high school.

Almost oddly, he appeared in 1 Division3 game back home before juniors.

The 20-year old will do well at his school.

Thomas Farrell (4)

Army West Point Black Knights‘ defenseman Thomas Farrell(4) finished up 4 years, leaving with a best 6 goals and 20 points as a senior and signs with Toledo Walleye.

In 4 ECHL games he has a goal, an empty netter and an assist with a +3 rating.

The 6’1″ 200 lbs. blue liner had a career best 25 assists in his 1 NAHL season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights with an impressive +22 rating before committing to college.

From Mettawa, IL, the 24-year old should do well in the pro ranks.

His play under an ato is impressive enough for him to net a 1-year deal to continue with the Walleye.

In 28 games, he scores 2 goals and 4 assists with a +5 rating to earn a contract for a continued look in 2024/2025 in a Walleye jersey.

He’s actually released from his contract before playing in the current frame and gets immediately adopted by Indy Fuel.

In 29 games, he has 1 goal and 4 assists with a +5 rating, but Kansas City Mavericks need him and trade to get his services.

Through 22 games, he scores only 3 assists, but is a very nice +15 rating, which is a cinch to invite him back for a full frame in a Mavericks‘ jersey, 2025/2026.

Alexander Tertyshny (59) with a Twitter interview 5/16-23

American International College 2021/2022 commit, defenseman Alex Tertyshny(59) will challenge for a roster spot when he arrives for training camp.

A former assistant captain with Northeast Generals, he managed to score new career highs 6 goals and 25 assists in 57 NAHL games with a modest +1 rating on a non-playoff club.

The 6′ 170 lbs. d-man did a pair of years in junior hockey over in Russia’s MHL with Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk and did alright with points but was a nice +13.

He only left near the onset of his 2nd season back at his 2nd home before coming over to skate for Corpus Christi Icerays but that experiment went south, so he got himself a trade and once in MA, things started improving big.

Only figuring into 1 game as a freshman, he ups and leaves for Stonehill College Skyhawks.

While he gets into 30 games, he scores 4 assists with tough +/- on a team that didn’t win much.

He would only get into 9 games as a junior, but decides to leave 1 year of school on the table to accept a contract back in Russia VHL with Chelmet Chelyabinsk for 2025/2026.

 

–Do you feel healthy to get started in a few months?
Yes, although I’ve been home, I’ve been working very hard on my body and my game. I know these next two years are very crucial for me and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity David and Darrel Borges have given. Currently just putting myself in the best position to deliver for them and their program.

Arvega Hovsepyan (81)

Salve Regina University Raiders‘ freshman right wing Arvega Hovsepyan(81) enjoyed a good first season, scoring 8 goals and 28 assists in 26 games, but takes that into the transfer portal to next skate his game at Hobart University Statesmen for 2025/2026, his sophomore frame.

The 5’9″ 186 lbs. forward bounced around juniors and finally seemed to settle once he got into the NAHL, where he scored 11 goals and 16 assists in 21 games with a +12 rating, then added 6 points in the playoffs before college.

From Los Angeles, CA, the 22-year old will do really well with his new team.

Yvan Mongo (91)

Reading Royals 2nd year left wing Yvan Mongo(91) is off and running on the stat sheet with 15 goals and 15 assists in 44 ECHL games.

The 5’9″ 187 lbs. forward has well outpaced what he scored as a rookie.

He originally did 4 years in the QMJHL, continuing to take up his scoring as he went and then entered University Of Ottawa Gee Gees.

In 55 games, he records 17 goals and 21 assists to gain a 3rd invite to return and be a Royals.

He only appears in 15 games, but scores decently, then adds an assist in 4 playoff games.

There’s still the look of development, now in a 4th season, wearing a Reading logo.

Jakov Novak (86)

Bentley University Falcons‘ senior and #1 goal scorer for the past two seasons (tied ’19/20), Jakov Novak(86) entered the college transfer portal to head somewhere new for his final season before he will likely be signed to an entry level deal by draft club (round 7, 2018, #177 overall) Ottawa Senators after a breakout campaign in USHL juniors with Janesville Jets.

His new college team is set to become right down the road Northeastern University Huskies for 2021/2022 and his 6’3″ 216 lbs. frame will be very welcome up front to what was sometimes a bit of a struggling club to score in the last frame.

The 22-year old Canadian hothead on ice will be missed in Waltham, but will fit in perfectly the Boston area playing Hockey East style.

He finished up a graduate year with a tied 8 goals in his 2 campaigns at the new school and 4 assists as assistant captain with a +4 rating.

To turn pro, he signs an ato with Allen Americans, who are the new ECHL affiliate of his draft team and has been turning it up with 7 goals and 5 assists in 14 games, heading into the postseason to hopefully continue to fall under their radar for a contract.

For 2023/2024, he signs a minor league deal with Laval Rocket to officially get started as a rookie.

He spends the majority of 2 seasons with affiliate Trois-Riveries Lions and won the 2025 Kelly Cup last season, as pretty much a point-per-game performer.

Coachella Valley Firebirds have him on their radar and sign him up for 2025/2026.

Nic Belpedio (9)

Colgate University Raiders‘ senior defenseman Nic Belpedio(9) enters the transfer portal to do a year of eligibility as a graduate at Ferris State University Bulldogs.

The 5’10” 194 lbs. blue liner isn’t the biggest scorer, but did have 5 goals and 9 assists as a sophomore.

From Skokie, IL, he did 2 USHL years with Waterloo Blackhawks before college.

The 23-year old will likely fit in nicely with his new school.

Rocco Grimaldi (28)

9th year right wing Rocco Grimaldi(28) was unable to chase down an NHL deal for 2022/2023, so has decided to sign a 1-year AHL deal with San Diego Gulls to keep his game going.

The small 5’6″ 160 lbs. forward surpasses the 300 games played mark in the league this season and is already on top of scoring with 6 goals and 11 assists in 15 games.

He once scored 30+ goals, once 20+ and 3 times 10+ and also struck for 10 goals in 2 seasons in the upper league and also had 21 assists in his best showing for Nashville Predators, where he spent 4 campaigns.

The 29-year old, 3-year University Of North Dakota Fighting Hawks may not be done, but we’re a little surprised the Anaheim, CA native hasn’t left for some overseas action in say Sweden, instead of playing kind of close to home.

After putting up point-per-game numbers for his current out of playoff contention team, he gets a trade to Rockford Icehogs, who are in a battle for the last spot in their division.

For his 10th season 2023/2024, he signs a 1-year contract with Chicago Wolves, which should be a lot of fun for him.

Despite running up point-per-game numbers with 73 of them, he signs only a pto with Cleveland Monsters for 2024/2025.

Well, after 6 goals and 17 assists in 15 games, as the team leading scorer, they grace the 31-year old with a 1-year contract.

In 66 games, he records a career high 41 assists, but will take his game elsewhere for a 1st time in his pro career, signing a 1-year deal with SKA St. Petersburg for 2025/2026.
