Undrafted 3rd year, center Robert “Bobo” Carpenter(14) signs a 1-year AHL deal with Milwaukee Admirals for 2021/2022.
He was originally inked to a 2-year entry level deal by New York Islanders after graduating as captain of Boston University Terriers.
Almost oddly, the 5’11” 200 lbs. forward was a breakout scorer as a junior, recording 20 goals and 15 assists in 40 Hockey East games, but maybe played a slightly more reserved style as team leader.
The North Reading, MA native took an interesting path through Austin Prep USHS-Prep to local youth and junior premiere before arriving at Sioux City Musketeers upon graduation, where he pumped in point-per-game stats for his short spell in the USHL.
We think the 25-year old will do well within his new club’s system and potentially gain notice from the parent club Nashville Predators.
After suffering a mid-season injury after putting up point-per-game numbers in the ECHL, he will return to Florida Everblades, signing a 1-year deal for 2022/2023.
He absolutely destroys scoring on the team’s way to a 3rd straight Kelly Cup trophy, but he’s set to move on and we are sure Belfast Giants of the EIHL really want him in their uniform for 2024/2025.
In 47 games, he scores 18 goals and 17 assists, then adds 5 points in the playoffs to win a 2nd straight trophy, but decides to return closer to home for 2025/2026 and signs with Kansas City Mavericks.
Maine Mariners‘ rookie left wing Xander Lamppa(19) had a pretty healthy start, signing with the team off 4 years at Penn State University Nittany Lions, where he had 13 assists as a junior and senior.
In that 16 games period, he scored 3 goals and 5 assists.
The 6’1″ 205 lbs. forward did 2 USHL seasons for Waterloo Blackhawks, scoring big in his 2nd frame.
In 22 games, he has 2 goals and 4 assists and will likely post new ECHL bests through the entire session.
From Rochester, MN, the 24-year old is likely happy to get a chance to play pro hockey.
In 65 games, he scores 11 goals and 20 assists to earn a new deal to stay a Mariners for 2025/2026.
6’6″ 216 lbs. defenseman Jacob Modry(2) signs a 1st pro deal with Savannah Ghost Pirates, where in 3 ECHL games he’s like having a lot of fun, but also has a 1st assist.
He finished up college with 2 years at SUNY-Plattsburgh State Cardinals after maybe two underwhelming frames with Merrimack College Warriors.
As a senior, he tied his best 4 goals and got a new high 19 assists, 23 points in 28 D3 games with a +21 rating.
The 24-year old from El Segundo, CA will need maybe just settle a bit to find his team.
He started 2023/2024 with Newfoundland Growlers, but after 20 ECHL games with 2 goals and 2 assists, he gets shipped to Greenville Swamp Rabbits, which is probably the best landing spot possible for the big man on wheels.
No points after 22 games, but he maintains a nice +6 rating on accountability and they easily see something there to continue working with and sign him up to stay in a Swamp Rabbits‘ sweater for 2024/2025.
Boston University Terriers‘ graduate left wing Sam Stevens(25) signs a 1-year AHL deal with Toronto Marlies, effective 2024/2025.
He was able to slip in 1 game on an ato.
The 6’1″ 183 lbs. forward scored a college hockey best 10 goals last season.
He left a +34 rating player.
From Montreal, QC, the 24-year old played 2 USHL seasons of junior hockey before school.
He only appears in 21 games, but scores 2 goals and 2 assists with a +3 rating to earn his way back on a 1-year deal for 2025/2026 to return as a Marlies.
Assumption University Greyhounds‘ senior, captain right wing Shane Sullivan(17) signed a pto upon opting out of tournament play with Macon Mayem of the SPHL to get his pro game started.
He played 3 games, but didn’t record a point.
The big 6’5″ 200 lbs. forward signs with Les Elephants de Chambery of France2 for his official rookie frame.
He scored college highs 10 goals and 23 assists in 32 games with a +16 rating, so we feel the 25-year old from Holden, MA will score well in the tier 2 French league.
In 27 games, he scores 5 goals and 11 assists, which he takes to a contract with Toulouse-Blagnac Les Belougas of France3 for 2025/2026.
Undrafted center Grant Loven(23) had to jump around a few schools before finding the right home in his graduate season at Canisius College Golden Griffins, who went on to win the 2023 Atlantic Hockey title.
The 6′ 190 lbs. forward had a 2nd solid frame in NAHL juniors with Minot Minotaurus, scoring 13 goals, 35 assists and a +13 rating before committing to his 1st school Northern Michigan University Wildcats , where he actually seemed to be doing pretty decently before midseason decided to switch things up and maybe head to the closer to home University Of St. Thomas Tommies.
From East Grand Forks, MN, the 25-year old signs a 1st pro deal with Fayetteville Marksmen.
We think he’ll contribute well in the SPHL.
After blowing up scoring to 15 points in 13 games, he is loaned up to Adirondack Thunder, where he appears in 57 ECHL games, scoring 10 goals and 15 assists with a +6 rating.
It’s a very easy contract to hand out, if he wants to sign and he is back on to stay in Adirondack for 2025/2026.
Goaltender Keith Petruzzelli(80) receives a 2-year AHL contract from Toronto Marlies.
The absolutely huge 6’5″ 185 lbs. backstop put up quite the impressive numbers for the last three seasons at Quinnipiac University Bobcats.
He graduated with 94 ECAC games played, posting a 51-27-8 record and a 2.17 GAA, .915 SV%, but it was really 2020/2021 stats that catch your attention at 1.98 GAA and .926 SV%, a 17-8-4 record with 4 shutouts and a bigger wonder how Detroit Red Wings, who selected him in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft (#88 overall), allowed his rights to expire.
The Wilbraham, MA native arrived at college sporting some amazing stats and even through his fullest schedule of 35 USHL games did well with Muskegon Lumberjacks, hoisting a 22-10-1 mark, 2.40 GAA and .918 SV%.
It’s likely the 22-year old will be up for the challenge to grab the starter’s role.
After a 3rd season with the same club and he was ascending, he signs with Lehigh Valley Phantoms for his 1st time away.
He splits time with affiliate Reading Royals, where he plays 34 ECHL games.
They are liking what they see and he is signed up to stay a Phantoms for 2025/2026.
Former University Of New Hampshire Wildcats‘ senior captain, defenseman Will MacKinnon(27) signs a 1st pro deal with Lehigh Valley Phantoms after graduating, but is mostly reassigned to affiliate Reading Royals.
The 5’11” 201 lbs. blue liner played two seasons of junior hockey, including one for the USNTDP.
At just turning 22-years old, the college graduate is still very young and although may have never been the biggest scorer may just find his ECHL game to be a stay-at-home style d-man.
In 17 games, he managed 1 assist with a +2 rating to be re-signed and stay in Pennsylvania for his rookie season.
He stayed in their system for a couple seasons before heading to Utica Comets.
Late in the season, he was traded to Cleveland Monsters, who wanted him for future considerations.
They re-sign him for 2025/2026 to stay a Monsters.
South Carolina Stingrays‘ rookie defenseman Connor Moore(74) is still looking for a first pro goal but does have 7 assists in 27 ECHL games with a +1 rating on a very decent team in an absolute fist fight for a playoff spot.
The former, four year Boston College Eagles‘ prodigy never really was a big point getter at college but did have 12 assists in both of his first two years at school but then his numbers sort of trailed off but stay a pretty reliable +/- guy in the zone.
He did come up fairly big on the scoresheet in his only year of juniors for Youngstown Phantoms, when he scored 7 goals with 23 assists in 60 USHL games with a +23 rating.
The 23-year old, Cumming, GA native, who did go to prep school in the Boston area, seems to be still finding his way.
We think that will start to develop as a real full season gets underway, as the 5’10” 174 lbs. blue liner re-signs to stay in South Carolina for 2021/2022.
He would sign for a 3rd look and came away scoring league highs 6 goals and 31 assists with a +30 rating in 61 games.
Not exactly done, he returns for a 4th frame in 2023/2024 to do that Stingrays‘ sweater.
We doubt he’s going anywhere else in his pro career as he continues to score points and re-ups for a 5th season with South Carolina.
He scores a new best 10 goals and 40 points with a +22 rating in 65 games and without a doubt stays in South Carolina for 2025/2026.
Idaho Steelheads‘ 2nd year center Jordan Kawaguchi(77) took a bit to return for the new season after scoring 26 goals and 26 assists in 58 ECHL games with a +25 rating.
He was initially signed to their upper affiliate Texas Stars after graduating North Dakota University Fighting Hawks, where he scored 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 games upon joining them post school, then tallied 6 goals and 17 assists in 49 AHL games, as a rookie.
The 5’9″ 185 lbs. forward was a huge scorer in the BCHL as twice captain for Chilliwack Chiefs, leaving them as a more than a point-per-game performer.
He has another strong, point-per-game campaign that he will next take to the EIHL, where he signs with Belfast Giants for 2024/2025, which should heed amazing results.
After a 17 goal and 20 assist in 50 game season, with another 4 (2-2) in the playoff to win a 2025 EIHL Cup Championship, which also means he’s a cinch to return to the Giants in 2025/2026.
