Worcester State University Lancers‘ sophomore center Anders Grongstad(20) has already passed his freshman goals with 6.
The 6′ 168 lbs. forward had 16 assists as a freshman and has 3 currently, so will need to raise that total.
He was an outstanding scorer for Metro Jets in 2 USPHL Premier seasons, but really took it up with 27 goals and 34 assists in his 2nd year.
From Salt Lake City, UT, he came up through the Honeybaked system, so has really played with some of the best as he’s gone.
Johnson & Wales University Wildcats‘ Japanese-born, senior defenseman Ryo Namaki(28) played a college career best 24 games, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists as a junior, but despite 1 assist in 11 games, we feel will see best marks in the frame in how he plays.
The 5’11” 185 lbs. blue liner played 1 USPHL Premier season for Northern Cyclones with 4 goals and 12 assists in 33 games before initially committing to New England College Pilgrims, where he spent 2 campaigns, but was used little.
He had to work himself into his new NEHC game, when he arrived.
We look for the 25-year old to continue.
UMASS Minutemen graduate left wing Christian Sanda(15) came over from 4 years at Union College Dutchmen.
The 6’1″ 185 lbs. forward isn’t exactly the biggest scorer with 3 goals and 3 assists as a junior, equaling basically all his stats.
He has 1 assist in 6 games with his new club, so is off to a good Hockey East start.
The undrafted 25-year old adding another year seems like a no-brainer and he definitely pushes his game.
Tufts University Jumbos‘ freshman defenseman Sylas Oberting(33) comes from a solid NAHL frame with New Jersey Titans, scoring 2 goals and 14 assists with a +8 rating in 59 games.
The 6′ 190 lbs. blue liner is a bit of a hothead with 133 penalty minutes and has 1 assist in 7 games, but we think is mostly relied upon for excellent play in his zone.
From Hanover, NH, the 21-year old is playing his college hockey decently enough close to home.
Skidmore College Thoroughbreds‘ senior center Jacob Franczak(13) already has a career best 3 goals and we believe will surpass his 7 assists posted as a junior and through 11 games this season is a +3 rating.
The 6’1″ 181 lbs. forward originally played 2 years at Long Island University Sharks after 2 strong AJHL campaigns, but only figured in 18 games overall.
From Edmonton, AB, the 23-year old looks pretty comfortable and ready to lead his club as far as they can go in the D3 rankings.
Fitchburg State University Falcons‘ graduate defenseman Antoine Gignac(23) is looking to flirt with career high stats he established last season, scoring 8 goals and 6 assists in 25 games with a +7 rating.
The 6’1″ 190 lbs. blue liner originally skated 2 years at University Of Southern Maine Huskies, but has found his game in the MASCAC.
A Quebec, QC native, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 23-year old go for a year of eligibility.
Framingham State University Rams pulled maybe a bit of a surprising 3-1 win over the MASCAC unbeaten Fitchburg State University Falcons at their home, Loring Rink over the weekend.
Senior goaltender Trevor Stenberg(30) turned away 23 or 24 shots for the win, earning him a 2nd win on the season.
Likewise, senior forward Cameron Lindsay(15) got the game-winner in what’s turning out to be a fruitful season for him with a near college best 3 goals and new high 5 assists and 8 points.
Mass College Of Liberal Arts‘ sophomore defenseman Matthew Castillo(5) came over after a freshman year at Salem State University Vikings, where he played a scant 3 games.
The 5’10” 189 lbs. blue liner has already figured into 11 appearances and looks to guard the zone nicely for his new college team.
He spent most of his junior hockey in 2 EHL sessions, last year for New York Applecore, scoring a mantle place 1 goal and 5 assists.
Maybe not the biggest of scorers, we feel once he finds the headman puck play, he will add to those totals some.
New Jersey Titans‘ 2nd year, Czech-born left wing Dominik Bartecko(15) commits to Mercyhurst University Lakers for 2024/2025.
The 5’9″ 170 lbs. forward has 8 goals and 18 assists in the current session.
In 40 NAHL games last year he had 14 goals and 25 assists.
He came over fairly quickly to play hockey and has done 4 seasons of junior hockey, including 1 in the USHL.
The still super young 19-year old will be a nice addition to Atlantic Hockey.
Calgary Flames‘ 6th year defenseman Andy Welinski(45) has been spending time in 2021/2022 with affiliate Stockton Heat, putting up 2 goals with 12 assists and a +11 rating, helping a very good team win.
The 6’1″ 205 lbs. blue liner could easily score himself an NHL recall.
He played 14 games last season for a 2nd time for original entry level contract club Anaheim Ducks and maybe didn’t get any points, but was a nice +4 rating.
The former University Of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs averaged 6 goals and 10+ assists a season.
He also won the 2012 USHL Clark Cup Championship with Green Bay Gamblers before heading to school, so has that in his hockey pedigree.
At 28-years old, he only taking small bites off the apple for contracts and that just could be the way it plays out for him.
For 2022/2023, he signs a new 1-year, lucrative 2-way deal with New York Rangers, but will likely spend the majority of his time working with the youngsters for affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack.
He was a very solid plus player through regular season and playoffs.
Although he never appeared with the main club, he becomes a piece of trade bait at the deadline and is shipped to Chicago Blackhawks, where he could actually play in a game or two.
After 8 games with Utica Comets, he is waived and not long after, for a first time signs overseas with Lowen Frankfort of DEL to continue.
