Boston University Terriers‘ Swedish-born freshman center Alex Zetterberg(61) enters the transfer portal after 26 games with 5 goals and 3 assists and will next skate at Minnesota State University (Mankato) Mavericks, as a sophomore.

The 5’8″ 164 lbs. forward played all his youth hockey and juniors back home before coming over for college.

At 19-years old, he steps into another tough team to play for.

8th year right wing Riley Barber(11) signs a 1-year deal with Dallas Stars for 2022/2023, as an unrestricted free agent, coming out of 2 years of contracts with Detroit Red Wings.

The 6′ 194 lbs. forward is off to another quick start this season, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 AHL games for affiliate Texas Stars.

He once had north of 30 goals and 4 times passed the 20+ tally mark and on 3 occasions had 20+ assists.

Originally a Washington Capitals‘ 6th round pick in the 2012 draft (#167 overall), he stayed in their system for 4 years after burning a hole through the college score sheet with Miami University (Ohio) Redhawks.

The 28-year old has somehow skated in 16 NHL games but not registered a point.

You have to think he’ll get another opportunity where he is this season.

He manages a very good, career high 32 goals and 32 assists in 69 games for the Cedar Park team and will next take his scoring abilities to the KHL, signing a 1-year deal with Barys Astana for 2023/2024.

While scoring 10 goals and 13 assists in 28 games, he still finds himself on the move and will head to AK Bars Kazan for the rest of the season.

He does ok, but signs with his 3rd team, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, where he scores well with 16 goals and 14 assists, but lacks a little with a -13 on ice accountability.

For 2025/2026, he decides to move to Germany and ERC Ingolstadt step right in to ink him to a DEL deal.

RIT Tigers‘ graduate, assistant captain defenseman Spencer Berry(3) seems to pull a bit of a fast one for a 1st pro deal and will that initially had him heading over to Germany to join DEL2, agreeing EC Kassel Huskies , but has flipped that to now agree with SC Bietigheim Steelers for 2023/2024.

He scored a 1st college career goal and added a new high 6 assists in 37 games with a +4 rating last season.

The 6’1″ 181 lbs. White Rock, BC native played 2 campaigns of BCHL for Langley Rivermen, getting 3 goals and 20 assists in his 2nd frame.

He likely ready to get going and the 24-year old looks good to do well in Germany’s tier 2 league.

Through 50 games, he records 3 goals and 7 assists, but is a terrible -16 rating, so decides to move to the lower league, Germany3 and signs with Hammer Eisbaren that is worth 14 assists and a +13 rating.

For 2025/2026, he agrees with Heilbronner Falken.

West Chester Wolves‘ 1st year right wing Joshua Swan(21) climbed into a new, upper league last season and was able to continue scoring.

In 49 USPHL/NCDC games, he scored 11 goals and 18 assists, then had 2 more helpers in the playoffs.

For 2025/2026, he commits to Stevenson University Mustangs, where he should definitely help them win games.

The 5’8″ 150 lbs. forward from Chateauguay, QC has found room in juniors to put up points.

UMASS Minutemen graduate right wing Lucas Vanroboys(67) must be glad he extended for a season of Hockey East, as he has a tidy 3 goals and 2 assists in 13 games with a +2 rating.

The big 6’2″ 190 lbs. forward came over from 4 years at Bentley University Falcons, where he had 16 assists and 20 points as a senior.

From Thamesville, ON, he did 2 campaigns in the BCHL for juniors before school.

The 24-year old is looking for his breakout session and he may have just hooked up with the right team to pull it off.

He may have not scored exactly the way he wanted to with 3 goals and 5 assists in 29 games, but his +4 show offense effect.

San Jose Barracuda are out of the playoff picture, but step in to offer him an ato.

In his rookie season, he scores 11 goals and 5 assists in 69 AHL games with a +6 rating.

He is offered a new contract to return for a 2nd frame as a Barracuda.

Brown University Bears‘ senior defenseman Brett Bliss(4) signs a 1st pro deal with Tahoe Knight Monsters.

The 6’2″ 190 lbs. blue liner played only 1 ECHL game and will need a new contract, if he wants moving forward.

He played a college best 31 games and was a 1st time +3 rating player.

From Chelmsford, MA, he headed north for junior hockey, BCHL for 2 years before school.

Not sure where the 23-year old signs, but he plays a physical game and should be ok as a pro.

Buffalo Sabres‘ 6th year center Sean Malone(37) continues with Rochester Americans under a new 1-year deal from the team he’s skated 5 seasons for.

The former Harvard University Crimson senior scorer is coming off a career year, getting a new best 20 goals and 37 points.

He only has 2 NHL games to his credit, with an assist in his 2nd appearance with 1-year contract club, Nashville Predators.

A Buffalo, NY native, the 27-year old is definitely keeping his hockey close to home.

Following 6 years and 284 AHL games, the 28 year is heading off to Switzerland to skate in the NL with SCL Tigers in 2023/2024.

He has two good Swiss seasons and takes it to a new deal with Orebro HK of SHL for 2025/2026.

Maryland Black Bears‘ 2nd year right wing, captain Tyler Stern(21) has re-decided his commitment and will now head to Northern Michigan University Wildcats for 2025/2026.

He had a junior NAHL best 14 goals, 22 assists for 36 in 46 games with a +19 points last season, then added 3 points in 4 playoff matchups.

The 5’10” 174 lbs. forward was a phenomenal youth hockey scorer.

From Plainview, NY, the 20-year will be an interesting watch at D1 hockey.

UMass-Lowell Riverhawks‘ Latvian-born, sophomore right wing Girts Silkalns(16) figured into only 10 games last season and 18 as a freshman, so it’s little guess he enters the transfer portal and will next skate at Northern Michigan University Wildcats.

The 6’2″ 187 lbs. forward did his youth hockey at home and even played some games prior to doing 1 year USHL before college.

We will see if the strategy finds him more opportunities to play and score.
