Sacred Heart University Pioneers‘ senior defenseman Logan Britt(6) enters the transfer portal and arrives at University Of North Dakota Fighting Hawks to hopefully gain a little more notice.

The 6’2″ 190 lbs. blue liner had a college career best 3 goals and 18 assists as a junior in 37 games.

He originally committed to his 1st school, Quinnipiac University Bobcats after a solid 2nd NAHL season with Aberdeen Wings, recording 22 assists.

The 24-year old Crystal Lake, IL native will likely find success in the NCHC.

Niagara University Purple Eagles‘ sophomore net minder Jake Sibell(30) heads closer to home to St. Thomas University Tommies for 2023/2024.

The 6’2″ 205 lbs. goalie got into only 3 games last season.

He played a 4-year junior career, ultimately ending up with Aberdeen Wings for a pair of frames, in which he captured NAHL awards in his 2nd year for Most Valuable Player, Best Goaltender, Best GAA and Best SV%.

We do believe the 23-year old from Asanti, MN will get his opportunities at his new school.

Undrafted rookie defenseman Matt Cairns(22) signs a one-year AHL contract with Rochester Americans for 2021/2022 after completing his senior year at University Of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

The big 6’3″ 213 lbs. blue liner skated three seasons at Cornell University Big Red, but we think saw the writing on the wall of a suspended 2020/2021, so entered the transfer portal to continue playing college hockey.

He won an OJHL Championship in his 2nd year of juniors in the league with Georgetown Raiders, scoring all bests 9 goals and 24 assists for 33 points, then added another 3 goals and 16 assists in 21 playoff games to the title.

The Mississauga, ON native would next try his hand at American junior hockey, signing on with Fargo Force, but leaving after 17 USHL games to join Powell River Kings and would keep scoring 2 goals and 14 assists in 18 BCHL games.

We’re not sure how much the 23-year old will be able to connect with points in his new top notch pro league, but do think he’ll be able to shut down offense as necessary.

He was mostly reassigned down to Cincinnati Cyclones for his 1st season, scoring 2 goals and 14 assists with a +21 rating.

For 2022/2023, he re-signs to stay in Ohio and should have another good ECHL year.

1 goal and 5 assists in 45 games with a +17 rating, then 11 playoff match ups, and he is invited to return again for 2023/2024.

Splitting his time between affiliates, his league rights get traded to Maine Mariners, but things get confusing and before you can blink he is going to Indy Fuel for some future rights considerations, so was wanted in the midwest.

He actually sticks through 49 games, 3 goals and 13 assists with a +13 rating, so does pretty well for himself, but is heading to the IceHL, signing for 2024/2025 with Asiago.

We think he does really well in this top Austria league.

Colorado College Tigers‘ sophomore defenseman Nate Schweitzer(14) heads for potentially more competitive waters through the transfer portal to arrive at Lake State Superior University Lakers for 2023/2024.

The 6′ 190 lbs. blue liner played a season low 11 games last frame, which is likely why he is looking elsewhere to play.

A Champlain, MN native, he was successful at high school hockey and then moved onto a single USHL frame before college.

Undrafted, the 21-year old will likely find things better in the CCHA.

Long Island University Sharks‘ Finnish-born senior center Santeri Hartikainen(26) goes pro for 2023/2024 and signs with Kiekko-Vantaa.

The 6’2″ 195 lbs. forward oddly isn’t much of a goal-scorer with no goals and 3 assists in 22 games last season.

His best stake in college hockey was in his sophomore year at Robert Morris University Colonials, scoring 5 goals and 9 assists in 22 games during the COVID shocked 2020/2021 run.

He had outstanding success in high school and his 1 NAHL session for Corpus Christi IceRays at 24 goals and 29 assists in 59 games.

For his junior year, he played at American International College Yellowjackets, appearing in just 6 games.

We think the 24-year old from Helsinki, FI finds room to move and pocket more points in Finland’s tier 2 league, Mestis.

Undrafted, left wing Ryan St. Louis(6) initially committed to Northeastern University Huskies and played 38 games there, worth only 1 goal and 1 assist, but decided it was maybe a little early despite coming out of 2 years at USNTDP and returned to a USHL season with Dubuque Fighting Saints, running up the scoresheet to the tune of 30 goals and 42 assists in 58 games.

The 5’10” 170 lbs. forward has decided to return to school and accepts a commitment to Brown University Bears for 2023/2024.

We think the 19-year old will find some room to pocket some points in the ECAC.

UMass Minutemen freshman defenseman Mikey Adamson(3) appeared in only 11 games in his 1st season, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist, enters the transfer portal and will try something new at Sacred Heart University Pioneers in 2023/2024.

We think the 5’9″ 170 lbs. blue liner finds renewed energy in Atlantic Hockey.

He did 2 USHL seasons with Sioux City Musketeers, winning a 2019 Clark Cup in his 2nd campaign.

Undrafted, the 21-year old from Quincy, MA will be one to watch as he transitions.

University Of New Hampshire first year left wing Will Margel(25) is basically skating a regular shift with a goal and 3 assists in 12 games.

The plays bigger than 5’9″ 170 lbs. is coming off a standout year for Johnstown Tomahawks, scoring 23 goals and 28 assists with a +15 rating in just 37 NAHL games.

He had kind of a bit of an odd run through junior hockey, starting years in the USHL, but quickly abandoning to other leagues, heading up to the BCHL with Coquitlam Express in his first session.

It was after monster showings for Selects Academy 15U & 16U AAA that got him committed to his school.

The 20-year is already contributing in the tough Hockey East play.

After 2 seasons getting shifted in and out of the lineup, the Potomac, MD native will head to Mercyhurst University Lakers for 2023/2024 through the transfer portal.

American International College 2021/2022 commit, defenseman Alex Tertyshny(14) will challenge for a roster spot when he arrives for training camp.

A former assistant captain with Northeast Generals, he managed to score new career highs 6 goals and 25 assists in 57 NAHL games with a modest +1 rating on a non-playoff club.

The 6′ 170 lbs. d-man did a pair of years in junior hockey over in Russia’s MHL with Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk and did alright with points but was a nice +13.

He only left near the onset of his 2nd season back at his 2nd home before coming over to skate for Corpus Christi Icerays but that experiment went south, so he got himself a trade and once in MA, things started improving big.

–Do you feel healthy to get started in a few months?
Yes, although I’ve been home, I’ve been working very hard on my body and my game. I know these next two years are very crucial for me and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity David and Darrel Borges have given. Currently just putting myself in the best position to deliver for them and their program.

The 21-year old will definitely look to continue to shine and is the next subject of our video feature: one question interview.

After three seasons with close to home Kenai River Brown Bears, Alaska-native, big 6’4″ 205 lbs. forward Porter Schachle(11) commits to University Of Vermont but was recently traded closer to his future college home going to Danbury Hat Tricks, where in 6 games he has a goal and two assists.

He’s currently just about a point per game performer with 12 goals and 11 assists in 29 NAHL appearances this season, which goes along with career high marks set in 2019/2020, when he popped 15 goals and 22 assists in 46 games with a +14 and 127 penalty minutes, including more than a few fighting majors.

That number has been taken to a new level in the current calendar with 169 minutes spent in the box already and the season still has a bit of a ways to go.

The 20-year old should fit nicely into Hockey East style of play.

After 61 games in the division, the always tough to play against, undrafted Wasilla resident has decided to head home and skate for University Of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves for 2023/2024.
