Florida Panthers‘ 3rd year center Dominic Toninato(14) plays his 2ndĀ game of the 2019/2020 with his new club.
He was picked up in a trade over the summer.
The 6’2″ 191 lbs. forward skated two years with Colorado Avalanche, splitting time between the big league and AHL in his rookie campaign, but then skated only 2 games (with a 1st NHL goal) in his sophomore run.
UHe three times put up 15+ goals for hometown college, University Of Minnesota-Duluth, where as a captain in his last season won the regionalĀ 2017 NCAA/NCHC Championship and was a point-per-game performer (29-41-70 in 64 USHL games) in his only season for Fargo Force.
In 12 games for affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds, he’s already tapped in 4 goals and 2 assists with a +4 rating.
The 25-year old is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the year but should be qualified, especially if he can continue to play up top and score effectively in the minors when reassigned.
