Aaron-Luchuk

Ottawa Senators‘ undrafted rookie center Aaron Luchuk(25) has always seemed to fly a little below the radar even though as an overage player at 20-years old splitting time between original club, Windsor Spitfires, where he was their 2017/2018 team captain and Barrie Colts claimed the OHL Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy for most points (50-65-115).

He also won the 2017 Memorial Cup with his former team as a third year skater and was considered the series clutch player with 2 goals including the game-winner and 2 assists.

Somehow the 5’10” 187 lbs. forward was reassigned down to Brampton Beast to start his pro career and in 23 ECHL games scored 6 goals and 7 assists on a team that sort of chugs along.

A couple of months into the current campaign, he finally received his recall to affiliate Belleville Senators.

It took him a few games to get settled but by his fourth appearance netted his first AHL goal, and then added another a couple nights later.

The 21-year will have to work for it but could find himself on a bit of a short list to get a look in the show.

Signed last December, he’s already considered to be in the 2nd year of his three-year deal.
