Florida Panthers‘ 6th year left wing Aleksi Saarela(28) pots a 1st NHL goal in his 5th ever game on his 2nd recall of 2019/2020.
He’s been doing his usual lighting it up for affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds with 12 goals and 19 assists in 43 AHL games.
The Finnish forward with finish may be just getting started at the higher level as he’s starting to see the ice the way he does in the minors.
At 23-years old, he was twice traded this season but is still under contract to his entry level deal and set to become a restricted free agent for a 1st time at the end of the current session.
Seems like he’d be a no-brainer to continue and may even swing a one-way extension as part of a two-year contract.
