10th year veteran center Andrew Joudrey(11) retires after three seasons with Adler Mannheim. where he won the 2015 DEL Championship in his first run overseas.
His pro career started playing four campaigns with Hershey Bears, while under contract to Washington Capitals, then moved onto a pair of years for Columbus Blue Jackets and was assistant captain for affiliate Springfield Falcons before signing a minor league deal to continue with the team.
The 33-year old picked up decent numbers in his first year in Germany but tailed off his last two.
He leaves the ice with an NCAA Championship, 2 Calder Cups and a DEL title, which ain’t too shabby.
No word quite yet what he’ll do as he wraps up but obviously coaching would look to be a natural move for him to make.
Andrew Joudrey(24) Springfield Falcons
Springfield Falcons‘ 7th year center Andrew Joudrey(24) is coming off his most productive, third season with the team.
He recorded new career highs with 20 assists and 32 points; good enough to tie his regular season mark for helpers and second most overall total.
The not exactly huge 5’11” 185 lbs. forward, previously noted for his assistant captain, leadership qualities more than his ability to connect on the score sheet, signed his first non-NHL contract, a one-year deal for 2013/2014.
He’s only ever skated a single game with Columbus Blue Jackets in the show.
He won an NCAA Championship with University Of Wisconsin in 2006 and a pair of back-to-back 2009 and 2010 Calder Cup Titles with Hershey Bears.
The 29-year old scored the overtime, winning goal in the first game of the AHL Eastern Conference Calder Cup Quarterfinals and could very well also be on his way to new postseason personal bests.
Where he will end up next is anyone’s guess, but he could easily signed for another couple seasons to stick where he is.

Washington Capitals‘ 2003 8th round pick (#249 overall) center Andrew Joudrey(24) will skate for only his second pro team going into his fifth year pro.
Former captain for Hershey Bears, he signed a two-year, two-way deal with Columbus and will be a leader for their AHL affiliate, Springfield Falcons.
Late last month he played his first preseason game at New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA vs. Providence Bruins after being reassigned from Blue Jackets‘ training camp..

For the first time in his career, 5th year Washington Capitals‘ 2003 8th round draft pick (#249 overall) and former Hershey Bears‘ captain, centerman Andrey Joudrey(23) signed a two-year, two-way contract with Columbus Blue Jackets that will likely see him spend most of his playing time in the AHL with Springfield Falcons.
He had yet to earn any playing time in the NHL.
His stats have never been all that great but he is seen as a team leader on ice and in the locker room. He won Calder Cups in 2009 and 2010 with the Bears.
