Florida Panthers‘ 3rd year right wing Anthony Greco(25) took a career sophomore season for affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds into a 2-year entry level deal less than a month and a half in.
He was signed to a minor league contract as a rookie and to start 2017/2018.
The somewhat small-is 5’10” 172 lbs. forward got off to a hot start in his 2nd campaign finishing with a team high, career best 29 goals, 19 assists and 48 points in 75 AHL games, including 6 on the power play, 6 short-handed and 4 game-winners on a team that at times struggled.
He is a goal scorer that looks for open space on the ice, twice ascending to 23 points in his junior and senior years at Ohio State University and a 22 goal outing in his 2nd season of the USHL as captain for Des Moines Buccaneers.
The 24-year old will turn 25 before 2018/2019 starts and be heading into his third training camp with the parent club.
There’s little doubt he will compete for a roster spot.
