Brendon-Nash

10th year defenseman Brendon Nash(24) re-ups for a third season (2nd consecutive) with Rytiri Klado of Tipsport Czech Extraliga.

The fairly big 6’3″ 205 lbs. blue liner put up a decent 7 goals and 22 assists with a +17 rating, then added another 6 points in 10 playoff games in Czech2 to earn himself a promotion up to the higher league.

He earned his highest point totals in his first appearance with the team coming over from North America in 2015/2016 scoring 8 goals and 35 assists in 48 games.

The Cornell University graduate was always good for 10+ assists in his four years before the undrafted d-man signed a two year entry level deal by Montreal Canadiens.

He appeared in two midseason contests in the midst of a strong rookie showing with affiliate Hamilton Bulldogs grabbing 5 goals and 25 assists with a +22 rating but suffered a season ending injury during training camp shelving what could have been a nice opportunity.

Re-signed to a one year extension, he was reassigned but didn’t have the same kick and eventually traded to Florida Panthers‘ organization, where he played out his contract term and wasn’t qualified.

He next signed an AHL agreement with Hartford Wolf Pack and stayed with the organization but found himself in and out of the lineup.

His follow-up was a one-year excursion to the ECHL joining Bakersfield Condors, which actually seemed to go pretty well.

It would be little surprise to see the 32-year old return for post-hockey opportunities but he also may just like where he is.
