Brett Olson (26)

10th year center Brett Olson(26) returns to a 5th year of DEL hockey, but switches allegiances. signing with Dusseldorfer EG for 2021/2022.

The 6′ 190 lbs. forward has definitely done ok in the league, scoring 10+ goals and just shy of 15 assists in 176 games, and in 11 contests this season has 2 tallies and a helper.

He left for Europe after a pair of 2-way NHL deals, as he’d been a solid scorer in the AHL, originally agreeing on a pair of seasons with Abbotsford Heat to start his pro career.

The former 2-time Michigan Tech University Huskies‘ originally left for a no-brainer deal to EC Salzburg, where he was essentially a point-per-game player in 39 EBEL games.

At 34-years old, there’s little doubt he could become a valuable voice on the bench for a squad.

After another 39 games in Germany’s top league, he has decided to move off the ice and accepts assistant coaching duties at his former home for junior hockey, Waterloo Blackhawks, where he will be amazing.
