Undrafted 3rd year net minder C.J. Motte(30) signed for a 2nd term with Quad City Mallards but was recently loaned up for a 2nd time in 2 years to Chicago Wolves, where in three AHL games he’s putting up a strong performance of a 1-1-1 record with a 2.30 GAA and .922 SV%.
The 6′ 190 lbs. goalie was also very successful in a pair of contests with Charlotte Checkers last season.
In his first appearance he came in and shut the door through one period of play, which set up his first start, a 31-save victory.
He left onĀ an outstanding 1-0 record with a .75 GAA and .976 SV% but was sent back down to the ECHL.
Through 80 games he owns a 35-35-3-1 mark.
The 25-year old has an opportunity to possibly establish himself in the higher league but may need a little luck and vote of confidence from the coaches.
