Caleb-Herbert

4th year right wing Caleb Herbert(29) is detonating the score sheet under contract with Greenville Swamp Rabbits for 2017/2018.

In 35 ECHL games he has a career high 20 goals and 27 assists with a +5 rating.

His offensive explosion has led to a pair of loans up to Hartford Wolf Pack, where he notched a goal and 2 assists in 8 AHL games and is currently with San Jose Barracuda (6 games, 1 assist).

With such good numbers, you have to think the 26-year old will likely seek out a better deal to play overseas for his next venture.

3rd year right wing Caleb Herbert(40) signs a one-year contract with Texas Stars for 2016/2017.

With his two-year entry level deal expiring, he was left unqualified by draft team Washington Capitals after being largely unproductive with affiliate Hershey Bears.

He scored three points on an ato fresh out of college, where he posted three straight seasons of 19 assist totals but has only been able to produce 4 assists through 38 AHL games over the last pair of campaigns.

The big power forward has done much better on reassignment to South Carolina Stingrays.

Through 57 ECHL regular season contests he’s connected for 29 goals and 13 assists for 42 points with a +15 rating, then was able to keep up that pace with 13 goals and 17 assists in 40 Kelly Cup Playoffs games.

He was tied for team first in 2016 postseason goal scoring.

The 24-year old will need to continue to put up numbers in the higher league or will once again find himself sent down.

It’s probably already crossed his mind to head overseas to see if his fortunes can improve.

Washington Capitals‘ 5th round pick in the 2010 draft (#142 overall) right wing Caleb Herbert(40) signed a two-year entry level deal, leaving University Of Minnesota-Duluth after leading the team in scoring and penalty minutes in his third season at the school.

His contract kicks in starting in 2014/2015 but no time has been wasted to get his legs wet as they send him to minor league affiliate Hershey Bears on an ato.

In his first game he connected for his first pro goal and assist.

For his encore he got the opening tally but in his third contest he received two minutes for holding and no points. There’s goes that average.

In three AHL games the totals rest (for the moment) at 2 goals, 1 assist for 3 points and a +3 rating.

All games were also important wins for the team.

The 6′ 194 lbs. 22-year old forward has been in the parent club’s training camps since his selection and will no doubt be fighting for a slot on the NHL roster in a fifth camp to officially start his rookie season.
