Columbus Blue Jackets‘ 7th year right wing Cam Atkinson(13) nets himself a handsome new 7-year extension in what is a contract season for the upcoming unrestricted free agent.
It essentially keeps the deep draft pick with the team through 2025.
The super small skater with speed and a solid set of hands played a career high 82 games scoring a new best 35 goals and 27 assists for 62 points with a +13 rating.
He has consistently elevated his game in each successive season and has been good for 40 or more points for 4 straight campaigns.
At 28-years old it’s almost like he’s just getting started and although he isn’t exactly on pace to beat his totals set in 2016/2017, he could catch fire and start connecting in bunches at any point.
