7th year center Chad Nehring(16) signed his first NHL contract with Ottawa Senators after coming off a career campaign for Hartford Wolf Pack, where he scored a team leading 22 goals and 48 points with a +16 rating in a full calendar of 76 AHL games.

He appeared in a pair of preseason contests with no points and was a late scratch from training camp but failed to score a recall.

Instead he languished in the minors with affiliate Binghamton Senators and watched his totals plummet to only 5 goals and 13 assists in 50 games on a team that was 2nd to last in winning percentage.

He was also a healthy scratch probably way more often than he would have liked, which didn’t add to any happiness in his environment.

The just turned 30-year old will try his hand at some overseas play for 2017/2018 signing with Fischtown Pinguins.

He should be able to resurrect his career nicely in Germany’s top league, DEL.

Chad Nehring(16) Hartford Wolf Pack

Chad Nehring(16) would finish up the 2014/2015 season still under the pto with Hartford Wolf Pack and had a respectful first full year skating 53 games, scoring 4 goals, 8 assists with a +2 rating and then added another two tallies and a helper in 15 Calder Cup Playoff contests.

This production was obviously good enough for the aggressive checking forward to land another year in Connecticut as he’s signed on to his first AHL contract in entering his fifth pro outing.

We fully expect the recently turned 28-year old’s offense to jump up another step.

Undrafted fourth year center Chad Nehring(16) received his first crack at the AHL signing a pto with Hartford Wolf Pack and scored a goal in his debut, an unfortunate 6-4 loss though.

The 5’11” 200 lbs. forward signed with his fourth different team in the off season, inking a one-year deal with Greenville Road Warriors.

He’s put up 5 goals and 7 assists in 17 ECHL games, which puts him on pace to notch career highs for all scoring categories in his three campaigns in the league.

He led the dormant Las Vegas Wranglers last year in goals and for the previous season he was the top goal scorer and point getter for Central Hockey League‘s Arizona Sundogs.

Almost ironically he never really connected for many points in four years at Lake Superior State University, finishing up his college career with a modest 30 goals and 23 assists in 147 games.

The 27-year old may only be up for a brief stay in Connecticut, but if he continues connecting with the score sheet and is released, another squad maybe hurting with their offense production could have a longer look.
