11th year Swede center David Ullstrom(61) returns to North America for the first time since 2013/2014 signing a one-year two-way deal with Arizona Coyotes.

The big 6’3″ 198 lbs. forward is now 29-years old and had some very decent scoring seasons in the KHL but spent last year at home as an assistant captain for HV71.

He also won a 2017 SHL Championship with them when he returned from a shortened season in Russia.

With 49 NHL games to his credit scoring 6 goals and 7 assists, he might work on the young squad.

Training camp awaits.

David Ullstrom (24)

New York Islanders‘ 4th round pick in the 2008 draft (#102 overall), 2nd year Swedish-born wing David Ullstrom(24) gets his first call-up and plays over 13 minutes of ice time posting two shots on net in his debut. He also went a -2 in the team’s 5-0 against Pittsburgh Penguins, which was also Sid “The Kid” Crosby‘s very low-awaited return to the game.

He didn’t look out of place out there playing with a team where pretty much every player looks like they are out of place (or just not where the puck is going).

Before his call-up, playing for Bridgeport Sound Tigers he shared the lead goal scoring spot with 3 others in the AHL at 12. In his rookie season he put up 17 goals and 24 assists in 67 games.
