New York Rangers‘ 1st round pick in the 2017 draft (#21 overall) Czech Republic-born center Filip Chityl(72) played a first season as a 17-year old in his home Czech Extraliga for HC Zlin scoring 4 goals and 4 assists.
He started his official rookie season on the NHL roster but in 2 games played very sparing minutes and went a -2 rating in a pair of losses.
The extremely decently sized 6’2″ 202 lbs. was reassigned to affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack, where as an 18-year old would become the youngest player to skate in the minor league since 1974.
In his AHL debut he didn’t affect the scoresheet but by the second game he notched his first pro goal and assisted on a pair of others.
There is little doubt this youngster that use to light it up in juniors is ready to jump all over the scoresheet in North America.
