It was a Saturday night non-conference battle at Boston Bruins‘ practice arena, Warrior Ice featuring the home Rivier University Raiders (Nashua, NH) vs. Framingham State University Rams, pitting two teams with near identical records.
The team from up north got on the scoreboard first with a goal late in the 2nd to break the ice, but an early 3rd period press by the other club from down the road would even things up at 1.
In the extra session, the Raiders kept pressing the 3-on-3 til they finally found light to win it 2-1.
Sophomore goaltender Luke Newell(29) stopped 28 of 29 shots for his 3rd win against 2 losses of the season.
