Undrafted sophomore left wing Griffen Molino(17) signed an AHL contract with Toronto Marlies but has found himself skating at least a few games for affiliate Newfoundland Growlers scoring 3 goals and 3 assists in 9 ECHL games with a tidy +4 rating.
He’s played 16 games in the upper league with a goal and an assist but that could change quickly with increased opportunities.
The former Western Michigan University assistant captain standout left after only two seasons to accept a two-year entry level deal from Vancouver Canucks that kicked when he left school and played 5 NHL games with no points.
He was reassigned to affiliate Utica Comets for all of 2017/2018 but only played 46 games scoring 3 goals and 7 assists with a +9 rating.
The 6′ 185 lbs. forward was not given a qualifying offer to stay becoming an unrestricted free agent.
At 25-years old it seems like if he can get hot scoring in whatever league, his chances at a good contract overseas would increase as he’s a pretty thorough, good to watch, leave it all on the ice type player.
