Florida Panthers‘ 4th year defenseman Jacob MacDonald(23) pulled off what we figured he was capable of: making the opening night roster after an impressive training camp.
Just a few seasons ago he was playing out his rookie season with the ill-fated Elmira Jackals.
In his sophomore campaign the 6′ 208 lbs. blue liner was originally signed to Toledo Walleye for 30 ECHL games but was loaned up to Albany Devils and never returned.
In his NHL debut he scored the opening goal vs. cross-state rivals Tampa Bay Lightning, so the 25-year old may not be looking back.
