11th year defenseman Jakub Jerabek(51) finds no traction to stay in the NHL after three trades in less than a year sent him from original contract club Montreal Canadiens to Washington Capitals, where he contributed an assist in two appearances to help them win the 2018 Stanley Cup, to signing a new deal as an unrestricted free agent with Edmonton Oilers, only to be dished before the start of the new frame to St. Louis Blues.
He played in one game to start the season with his fourth team but was quickly dispatched to affiliate San Antonio Rampage.
In 52 AHL games for a bottom dwelling squad, he scored 6 goals and 9 assists without so much as a sniff from the parent club to return.
It’s all good as the 28-year old Czech-born blue liner makes the decision to return the KHL rejoining Vityaz Podolsk for 2019/2020, a place he had maybe his best success with a career high 34 points (5-29).
