Cincinnati Cyclones‘ undrafted 16th year right wing Jesse Schultz(19) claims the ECHL scoring title with 80 points (22 goals and a career high 58 assists) for 2018/2019.
The 6′ 192 lbs. forward had a league high 57 assists last season but missed the top spot by only 4 total points.
He’s played for no less than 16 teams throughout his time in pro hockey, originally signed by Vancouver Canucks appearing in a pair of games in his 4th campaign but spending most of his time with affiliate Manitoba Moose, where he posted his AHL and team best in 2005/2006, 37 goals and 30 assists.
After leaving his first club’s nest, he was traded to Atlanta Thrashers but spent the entire season with farm club Chicago Wolves, as they won the 2008 Calder Cup and he continued putting up points at a searing rate.
The prolific scorer also reached new heights in his last season for Kelowna Rockets, when he got 53 goals and 51 assists in 72 games and went on to capture the 2003 WHL Championship with point total worth best in goals and points, then was voted league MVP.
The 36-year old, who will turn 37 before the new year starts and has skated games in 7 different leagues outside of North America, including DEL, EIHL, Allsvenskan, twice in Serie A and short stints for Erste Liga and Tipsport Slovak Extraliga, while also playing four years in the defunct Central Hockey League for Rapid City Rush.
Quite a history that shows little signs of stopping.
