Undrafted left wing Josh MacDonald(86) decided to try something a little different for 2018/2019 after returning from half a season in GET-ligaen with Stjernan Hockey.
He signed with Reading Royals, switching Conferences from Western to Eastern for the first time.
The 5’11” 185 lbs. forward has always put up good stats but as a sophomore skater splitting time between Rapid City Rush, then traded to Quad City Mallards he combined for 23 goals and 29 assists in 67 ECHL games.
He was a 20+ goal scorer in his final pair of seasons in the OHL with Peterborough Petes and Barrie Colts.
In the current session he’s already reached 18 goals and 13 assists in 39 games to earn a 1st loan up to affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The 24-year old has skated 4 AHL games but not notch any points, but if he can get started look for him to stick.
