Idaho Steelheads‘ 3rd year center Kyle Schempp(61) may be spending his first full season in the ECHL but is enjoying career high goals 15, assists 25 and points 40 in 67 games with a +3 rating.
The former Ferris State University captain in his third and final season, when they won the 2016 NCAA/WCHA Championship, was originally a New York Islanders‘ 6th round pick 2014 draft (#155 overall) but not given a qualifying offer after his 2nd season with affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
It seems like the 25-year old, 5’11” 183 lbs forward will take these best totals overseas to find a little higher level of hockey but he also may have found a nice new home in Boise.
