2nd year P.A.L. Junior Islanders‘ left wing, captain Luca Leighton(13) will head to Long Island University Sharks‘ for 2024/2025, which begs the question will he return for a 3rd run.
The 5’8″ 172 lbs. forward scored a junior tying 22 goals, new best 41 assists and 63 points, then another 6 points in 7 games on the way to the 2023 USPHL/NCDC Championship and was awarded Defensive Player Of The Year.
An Old Brookville, NY native, he played his youth hockey and even his junior team was very close to home, so he’s basically staying put.
The 19-year old will likely perform well playing the independent schedule.
