Mark-Friedman

Philadelphia Flyers‘ 3rd round pick in the 2015 draft (#78 overall), 2nd year defenseman Mark Friedman(59) gets the nod on his first NHL recall to close out 2018/2019 with the parent club.

He will likely return to affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms immediately to help them push for a Calder Cup playoff berth.

The 5’10” 192 lbs. blue liner has played a career high 72 AHL games scoring a new best 5 goals, 19 assists and 24 points.

He had a similar affect on the scoresheet through his three years at Bowling Green University twice notching 17 assists, then 18 in his final campaign.

His pair of seasons with Waterloo Blackhawks before being selected pointed towards an ability to head man the puck, as he put up 27 then 30 assists before heading off to school.

In his debut, he skated 19 shifts for 12:33 total ice time with 1 shot, 1 hit and left a close 4-3 loss with a -1 rating.

The 23-year old (born on Christmas Day) is in the 2nd season of his 3-year entry level deal so still has some time to show what he can do.
