Ottawa Senators‘ undrafted rookie right wing Max Veronneau(14) gets the recall for a 1st crack at the NHL since appearing in 12 games after graduating Princeton University, where he finished on an absolute tear scoring 30 goals and 62 assists in his final two seasons.
In his initial look the 6’1″ 193 lbs. forward scored a first pair of goals and assists but was a bit of a woeful -5 rating.
He has been strong and steady since being reassigned to affiliate Belleville Senators to start his first offiicial campaign grabbing 3 goals and 3 assists.
Skating 11 shifts in his return for 8:35 total ice, he had one shot, one hit and was a -1 rating in a 4-3 win.
The 22-year old is in the official 2nd year of his entry level deal with his hometown team, so will become a restricted free agent but it seems highly unlikely he goes unsigned to an extension unless he wants some serious cash or something.
