Philadelphia Flyers‘ 10th year defenseman Nate Prosser(39) was signed as an unrestricted free agent on opening day to a two-year two-way deal.
The undrafted blue liner has played 354 NHL games with 353 of those in a Minnesota Wild uniform.
He twice signed with St. Louis Blues but played only one game in the big league before being reassigned and was reclaimed on waivers twice to return to his hometown club.
The 6’2″ 207 lbs. d-man was a quick cut from training camp to report to Lehigh Valley Phantoms, he was made team captain and the thinking could be he will groom the youngsters in the AHL (and do an amazing job).
At 33-years old, the former Colorado College standout still very well could be effective on recall but we’ll see if that happens.
Nate Prosser (15)
Minnesota native Nate Prosser(15) re-upped with the Wild for the 2011/2012 season with a one year/two-way contract.
After proving reliability in his 1st pro season for Houston, he earned a call-up and saw action in a couple of NHL games registering one shot and no points.
He is being eyed to challenge for a spot on the blue line out of training camp.
