Charlotte Checkers‘ undrafted 2nd year right wing Nick Schilkey(26) has re-upped for another season after scoring 5 goals and 7 assists including to power play tallies and 2 game-winners in 48 AHL games.
The 5’10” 175 lbs. hard-skating forward was a two-time Ohio State University captain and nominated as a Hobey Baker Award finalist as a senior.
He had a pair of 41 points campaigns in his final two years of college hockey, which followed two 20+ point seasons.
As a member of Green Bay Gamblers, he helped his team win a 2012 USHL Clark Cup Championship and was a more than point-per-game performer (32-39-71 in 59 games) in the next year.
The 24-year old will likely earn another invite to parent club Carolina Hurricanes‘ training camp and will look to impress.
