Los Angeles Kings‘ 5th year center Nick Shore gets re-upped with a 1-year one-way contract by his draft team after playing a career high 70 NHL games scoring a new best 6 goals and 11 assists for 17 points.

He was coming off a two-year extension, where 2016/2017 was under similar terms.

The forward spent only one full season in the minors as a rookie but split his second campaign between affiliates helping Manchester Monarchs with a team leading 14 assists win the 2015 AHL Calder Cup Championship.

The soon-to-be 25-year old should be able to continue to increase his scoring totals as he has throughout his pro career.

Los Angeles Kings‘ 2nd year center Nick Shore(37) is putting up some mightily impressive career highs with affiliate Manchester Monarchs.

In 37 AHL games he is 2nd in the league in points at 41, tied for first in goals (20) and his +22 rating is tops.

The 6’1″ 195 lbs. forward earned his first recall and made his NHL debut with 17 shifts for 10:35 total ice time, including 1:03 on the power play, 1 shot on net and 1 hit in a shootout loss.

He’s set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the current campaign but the 22-year old looks to be in line for a nice extension on his current tear.

Los Angeles Kings‘ 3rd round pick in the 2011 draft (#82 overall) center Nick Shore(37) starts his pro career with minor league affiliate Manchester Monarchs

He decided to forgo his final year at University Of Denver, where he struck for 35 goals and 59 assists in 115 games before leaving to pursue his dream.

The 6′ 195 lbs. forward is signed to a three-year entry level deal that already has one year on the books and runs through the 2014/2015 season.

In 11 AHL games, he’s not exactly out of the gates quickly with just a pair of strikes and a helper and a +4 rating but he’s on an exceptionally good team that should improve those numbers maybe in a hurry.

At just 21-years old there’s still plenty of time to develop, although he’s in a prospect system with a lot of talent in its’ depth chart.

His slightly larger older brother is Drew Shore.
