Philadelphia Flyers‘ 5th round pick in the 2014 draft (#138 overall), Swedish-born 4th year left wing Oskar Lindblom(54) is the leading scorer amongst rookies with affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms, scoring 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 54 AHL games with a +4 rating and 119 shots on net to lead all first year players.
The 6’1″ 198 lbs. forward was recently recalled for his big league debut.
In his 1st pair of appearances he skated a average of 17 shifts for 15+ minutes of total ice including 0ne shot, 3 hits in 2 wins.
He started his pro career with 3 years in his country’s top league with junior team Brynas IF after lots of accolades, and pocketed 22 goals and 25 assists in 52 SHL games before heading to North America.
The 21-year old has a three year entry level deal through 2020, so has plenty of time to develop but we’re guessing he becomes a full-time member of the NHL sooner than later.
