7th year center Robbie Czarnik(77) has decided 183 ECHL games is quite enough for now deciding to sign a one-year deal and head to DEL2, where he’ll join Eisperaten Crimmitschau for 2017/2018.
He played a career high 66 games with 2nd year team Reading Royals scoring a new best 24 goals and 39 assists for 63 points with a +20 rating.
The 27-year old will be playing for his tenth pro squad and should really put up the points in the tier 2 Germany league.
It would be little surprise to see him move up the ladder to DEL.

6th year center Robbie Czarnik(70) would play for three different teams in the 2014/2015, spending the first part of the year with Indy recording almost a point-per-game, 17 goals and 13 assists in 31 and then traded to Ontario Reign, 21 contest (6-4) before being dished to Gwinnett Gladiators until he failed to pass a physical and was returned.
That transaction wouldn’t last as he was recalled on to join Norfolk Admirals on a pto.
He finished the regular season skating 10 AHL games with a goal and 3 assists, which almost matched his output from 2013/2014 in a third less appearances.
For 2015/2016 the 25-year old has inked for another year in the ECHL with Reading Royals and will likely be a training camp invite to affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms, where he could impress to stick.
Robbie Czarnik (27)
4th year center Robert Czarnik(27) was originally a Los Angeles Kings‘ 3rd round pick in the 2008 draft (#63 overall).
He played for 2.5 seasons with their minor league affiliate Manchester Monarchs before being swapped to Montreal Canadiens, where he was mostly a healthy scratch with Hamilton Bulldogs.
The 6’1″ 188 lbs. was never able to get on the score sheet regularly putting up a sparing 13 goals and 21 assists in 135 AHL games.
He had better fortunes through a year and a half in college at University Of Michigan before deciding to leave for two seasons of junior hockey with Plymouth Whalers.
In his final campaign he made a big jump in point production hitting the back of the net 33 times and helping out on another 44 through only 61 OHL games. From there he decided to turn pro.
Left to fend for himself without a qualifying offer after his 3-year entry level contract was up, the free agent signed on to skate the inaugural season of Indy Fuel.
The 24-year old certainly is hoping that his game can have a resurgence in the ECHL to potentially climb back up the ladder or head overseas for a better opportunity.
