3rd year former Toronto Maple Leafs‘ 1st round pick in the 2011 draft (#22 overall) right wing Tyler Biggs(22) was involved in a corker of a deal that sent Phil Kessel and one other player to Pittsburgh Penguins for three prospects in return.

After two seasons of US Development Team junior hockey, followed by a year at Miami University (Ohio) and another campaign with Oshawa Generals, where he scored 26 goals and 27 assists in 60 OHL games he turned pro on an ato with farm team Toronto Marlies.

In 4 AHL games he scored his first pro goal.

Through the next two years he would only score 9 goals and 5 assists through 108 games and was even reassigned for almost a month to the ECHL affiliate Orlando Solar Bears skating 8 contests.

He managed 4 goals and 2 assists in the lower league before being called back up.

The big 6’3″ 224 lbs. forward signed a three-year entry level deal that makes him a restricted free agent at the end of 2015/2016.

He’ll almost certainly start the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and will need to prove he’s got game.
