Undrafted 2nd year defenseman Vince Pedrie(5) gets put on unconditional waivers by his contract club of his rookie season and the current campaign New York Rangers and in no time signs an AHL deal with Milwaukee Admirals.
Seems like everyone in the room knew that was going down.
The 6′ 195 lbs. blue liner was splitting time between affiliates Hartford Wolf Pack and Maine Mariners, which was probably a bit odd to him considering he had 3 assists in 7 games in the upper league but was forced down due to space limitations and possibly dropping on the parent club’s depth chart.
He definitely showed a strength for scoring through 4 years in USHL, then a pair of campaigns at Penn State University, especially the 2nd one, where he had 22 assists in 39 NCAA games and also potted 5 assists on an ato after leaving college.
By signing a minor league deal, the 24-year old is probably looking to attract the attention of another big league club but could take a look overseas for his next adventure.
