Kevin-Clark09

9th year right wing Kevin Clark(11) takes some ok stats (9-4-13 in 38 KHL games) back to the NLA joining Rapperswil-Jona-Lakers for the remainder of 2018/2019.

The hockey nomad had a very good season with SCL Tigers in 2015/2016 before departing to the SHL for the next pair of campaigns.

He was probably most outstanding in his time in DEL after leaving North America and could probably return to Germany and settle there nicely but has decided Switzerland might be a little nicer.

At 31-years old, it looks like he still has plenty left in the tank to play but could also be eyeing what to do next with the four-year degree he earned from University Of Alaska-Anchorage.

Taylor-Beck9

8th year left wing Taylor Beck(65) switches KHL squads mid-season, leaving almost a pair of seasons with Kunlun Red Star for Avangard Omsk after scoring totals that equaled what he posted in 2017/2018.

In a 6 games with his new club, he off to a hot start with 5 goals and two assists.

The 27-year old may stay put signing for 2019/2020 but also may look elsewhere for his next overseas pro hockey adventure.

Jean-Dupuy

Undrafted 3rd year center Jean Dupuy(24) decided to take 2018/2019 off from pro hockey and has come to the decision to head to school agreeing to St. Francis Xavier University for 2019/2020.

Originally signed to a 3-year entry level deal by Buffalo Sabres that kicked in for the final campaign of his junior hockey career with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, he spent two seasons with affiliate Rochester Americans serving as an assistant captain in his 2nd year but was not given a qualifying offer to continue.

The unrestricted free agent inked with Toronto Marlies for his next move but found himself mostly reassigned to Orlando Solar Bears, where he put in 9 goals and 15 assists in 33 ECHL games.

His 17 AHL games scoring 3 goals would probably not likely see him return.

The 24-year old has made a wise decision to get an education and could return to play more hockey when he’s finished a degree program.

Vince-Pedrie

Undrafted 2nd year defenseman Vince Pedrie(5) gets put on unconditional waivers by his contract club of his rookie season and the current campaign New York Rangers and in no time signs an AHL deal with Milwaukee Admirals.

Seems like everyone in the room knew that was going down.

The 6′ 195 lbs. blue liner was splitting time between affiliates Hartford Wolf Pack and Maine Mariners, which was probably a bit odd to him considering he had 3 assists in 7 games in the upper league but was forced down due to space limitations and possibly dropping on the parent club’s depth chart.

He definitely showed a strength for scoring through 4 years in USHL, then a pair of campaigns at Penn State University, especially the 2nd one, where he had 22 assists in 39 NCAA games and also potted 5 assists on an ato after leaving college.

By signing a minor league deal, the 24-year old is probably looking to attract the attention of another big league club but could take a look overseas for his next adventure.

Steve-Swavely

Undrafted 3rd year center Steve Swavely(11) signed with hometown club Reading Royals as training camps were set to get under way for the new season.

It is a team he was very familiar with from playing 78 ECHL games for on reassignment.

The 6’1″ 190 lbs. forward appeared in another 26 games with them to start 2018/2019 picking up a best 12 goals and 16 assists before being loaned up to Lehigh Valley Phantoms, who he was signed to as a rookie and 2nd year player.

In 9 AHL contests he has 4 assists, including a 3 helper effort in his third game to help solidify a spot.

Taking a bit of an odd route to grab a four-year acceptance at University Of Maine, he had three explosive campaigns in tier three juniors.

Ben-Street15

Anaheim Ducks‘ 9th year center Brian Street(15) was recently sent to affiliate San Diego Gulls for a single AHL appearance and recalled after playing a career high 21 NHL games scoring new best 3 goals and 2 assists.

Not shabby for a now 31-year old small pivot that that started his pro career with Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

It’s possibly he’s just being sent down to wake up his scoring but the former University Of Wisconsin captain has had one heck of a ride and is on a 2nd one-way contract for a first time.

Dan-Sexton

After spending 4+ seasons with Neftekhimik Nizhenekamsk excelling on the scoresheet, especially in 2016/2017, where he potted 50 points (13-37) in 51 KHL games, 10th year right wing Dan Sexton(11) switches allegiances signing to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

He is off to a very hot start scoring 18 goals and 21 assists with a +17 rating.

The 31-year old veteran of 88 NHL games (13 goals, 19 assists) looks to be able to continue on his streak in Russia’s top hockey and almost literally shows no signs of slowing down or stopping.

Kodie-Curran2

4th year defenseman Kodie Curran(4) takes an outstanding campaign for Storhamar winning the 2018 GET-ligaen (Norwegian) Championship, where he was named playoff MVP (12-17-29 in 14 games) as team captain.

He also produced a league best +51 rating and was voted Player Of The Year.

The decently sized blue liner signed with Rogle BK to continue his upward climb overseas and has immediately started to get to work in Sweden’s top league for 8 goals and 10 assists in 24 SHL games with a +13 plus/minus to earn a one-year extension.

At 28-years old, it looks like he could have found the perfect place to continue on his scoring tear as he’s re-upped to return for 2019/2020 as the current calendar rolls.

Blair-Jones2

13th year center Blair Jones(22) takes some time to consider where and if to play next, choosing HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Tipsport Extraliga for his next venture after two decent seasons in DEL with Kolner Haie and Iserlohn Roosters.

The veteran of 132 games last played in the NHL at the start of 2014/2015 with Philadelphia Flyers.

He spent the first 6 seasons of his career under contract with Tampa Bay Lightning before heading off to Calgary Flames for 2 campaigns and then a pair of one year deals.

The very decently sized 6’2″ 215 lbs. forward has also played 465 AHL games with six different clubs scoring 116 goals and 178 assists.

At 32-years old he still has yet to win a title and might be looking for one in the current session to close out his career.

Aaron-Luchuk

Ottawa Senators‘ undrafted rookie center Aaron Luchuk(25) has always seemed to fly a little below the radar even though as an overage player at 20-years old splitting time between original club, Windsor Spitfires, where he was their 2017/2018 team captain and Barrie Colts claimed the OHL Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy for most points (50-65-115).

He also won the 2017 Memorial Cup with his former team as a third year skater and was considered the series clutch player with 2 goals including the game-winner and 2 assists.

Somehow the 5’10” 187 lbs. forward was reassigned down to Brampton Beast to start his pro career and in 23 ECHL games scored 6 goals and 7 assists on a team that sort of chugs along.

A couple of months into the current campaign, he finally received his recall to affiliate Belleville Senators.

It took him a few games to get settled but by his fourth appearance netted his first AHL goal, and then added another a couple nights later.

The 21-year will have to work for it but could find himself on a bit of a short list to get a look in the show.

Signed last December, he’s already considered to be in the 2nd year of his three-year deal.
